Bali Visa for Indian Citizens 2026: Visa on Arrival, Cost and Rules

Indian passport holders can get a Bali visa online in minutes, with no embassy visit and no sponsor. Here is exactly how the Visa on Arrival works for Indian travelers, checked against official Indonesian government sources.

The short answer

Yes, Indian citizens can get a Visa on Arrival (VoA) for Bali. India is on the official list of countries eligible for Indonesia's VoA and its online version, the e-VOA, published on the government portal evisa.imigrasi.go.id. The official fee is IDR 500,000 (a little under US$30) for a stay of up to 30 days, and it can be extended once for another 30.

Indian passport holders do not need to visit an embassy or find a sponsor for a holiday. You need a passport valid for at least six months, a return or onward ticket, the IDR 150,000 Bali tourist levy and the All Indonesia digital arrival declaration. If an older blog tells you Indians can enter Bali visa-free, ignore it and follow the official portal: the VoA is the route Indian tourists use. For the general version of this guide, see our Bali visa and arrival guide.

e-VOA online or VoA at Bali airport

You can get the same single-entry visitor visa in two ways.

  • e-VOA (recommended): apply on evisa.imigrasi.go.id before you fly. You will need a scan of your passport's photo page, a passport-style photo, an email address and a credit card. The official site recommends applying at least 48 hours before departure. Once approved, download the visa and keep both a digital and a printed copy. The e-VOA is valid for 90 days from issue, so you can enter on any date in that window.
  • VoA at the airport: buy it at the counter in the arrivals hall at Ngurah Rai airport, then queue for immigration. The counter accepts rupiah or US dollars, not Indian rupees, so carry enough US dollars or change money at the airport before you reach the counter. After an overnight flight via Singapore or Kuala Lumpur, the extra queue can be slow.

Every traveler, including infants and children, needs a separate visa, even if they are listed in a parent's passport. Family groups should fill one application per person.

Paying from India: card tips

The e-VOA portal accepts Visa, Mastercard and JCB credit cards only. Two details trip up many Indian applicants:

  • Enable international transactions on your card in your bank's app before you start. The card must support international payments and 3D Secure (OTP) authentication.
  • Pay within the time limit. The portal gives you a limited window on the payment page, so have your card and phone ready for the OTP.

The card does not need to be in the traveler's name, so one family member can pay for everyone. Your bank will convert the rupiah amount and may add a foreign currency markup. Visa fees are set by Indonesian government regulation and can be revised at short notice, so check the official site before you pay. Only use evisa.imigrasi.go.id: lookalike websites charge extra "service fees" for the very same visa, and errors in your details cannot be refunded.

How long you can stay and how to extend

The VoA allows up to 30 days from your arrival date. You can extend it once for another 30 days, for a maximum of 60 days. The extension fee is also IDR 500,000.

An e-VOA can be extended online on evisa.imigrasi.go.id. Apply in the window that opens 14 days before your permit expires and closes one day before. After paying, you are given a photo appointment at the immigration office for the address you enter, typically one working day later. Wear formal clothes covering knees and shoulders, and closed shoes. You will need a valid ticket out of Indonesia.

Overstaying costs IDR 1,000,000 per day and can lead to detention, deportation or a ban on re-entry. If you are planning a longer stay, the C1 tourist visa gives 60 days and can be extended up to a total of 180 days. It must be applied for online before you arrive and requires a bank statement for the last three months showing at least US$2,000 or the equivalent.

Passport and onward ticket

  • Passport validity: at least six months from your arrival date. Airlines in India check this at the counter and can refuse boarding.
  • Onward ticket: a return or onward ticket out of Indonesia is a requirement for the VoA. Have it printed or saved offline, because both your airline and the immigration officer in Bali can ask for it.
  • Travel documents: the e-VOA is issued for regular passports. Emergency or temporary travel documents are not eligible for the e-VOA.

The Bali tourist levy

Every international tourist pays Bali's one-time levy of IDR 150,000 (under US$10) per trip. It is separate from the visa and goes toward protecting Balinese culture and the environment.

Pay before you fly at lovebali.baliprov.go.id or in the Love Bali app, by credit card, bank transfer, virtual account, UnionPay or QRIS. Payment is cashless only. Your voucher arrives by email with a QR code. You can also pay at counters in Bali's airport and seaports, but paying from home is faster. Our Bali tourist tax guide covers exemptions and how to spot fake payment sites.

All Indonesia arrival declaration

Bali's airport has required it since September 1, 2025, and today all international arrivals in Indonesia complete the All Indonesia declaration, which combines immigration, customs, health and quarantine questions in one digital form. Fill it in at allindonesia.imigrasi.go.id or in the All Indonesia app, starting up to three days before you arrive, and keep the QR code ready. If you are carrying food, plants or animal products, answer the quarantine questions honestly.

Your pre-flight checklist

  • Passport valid for six months or more
  • e-VOA approved and downloaded for every traveler
  • Return ticket saved offline
  • Love Bali levy voucher in your email
  • All Indonesia QR code, completed within three days of arrival
  • Some US dollars or a card enabled for international use

Do these at home in India, and you will be through Bali's airport and on the road to Seminyak or Ubud while others are still queuing at the visa counter.
